About McCraw Materials

The McCraw family of Telephone, Texas dates back to the late 19th century where for many generations the McCraw’s have held a prominent farming presence in Northeast Fannin County. In 1971, Billy Mayfield McCraw II began helping his father farm various crops such as wheat, soybeans, peanuts, hay, alfalfa, and corn. Over a 40-year period, Mayfield McCraw farmed up to 13,000 acres in the fertile bottomlands along the Red River. In 1997 he began to look for other ways to diversify his business and knew his land held valuable sand used in the process of making concrete.

The following year, McCraw Materials was established and focus shifted to providing aggregate materials including Concrete Sand, Masonry Sand, Rock, and more to the Northeast DFW market, as well as surrounding communities. The business proved to be successful and in 2009 the opportunity arose to become one of the first suppliers of Hydraulic Fracturing Sand to the Haynesville Shale in East Texas and Louisiana. Supplying Frac Sand to East Texas was very successful and allowed for McCraw Materials to acquire new locations and create more jobs. Mayfield’s son Bryan McCraw has executed the role of Operations Manager and is now accompanied by his two sons Coleman and Clayton. Currently, Mayfield McCraw has five locations with a variety of aggregate materials in Telephone, Ambrose, Melissa, Mason, and Durant, OK.
